American Repertory Theater’s Family Musical Programming returns virtually in 2020 with Jack and the Beanstalk: A Musical Adventure, with book, music, and lyrics by Julia Riew. In this pop-rock musical adaptation of the original folktale, a young boy named Jack runs away from his ordinary life on a farm to a magical world where storytelling can transform reality – only to discover that riches, power, and the excitement of adventure cannot amount to the love, home, and family that he left behind.
